I Wish I Was a Snowbird
Every year,
the world is travelling
in long journeys of survival.
We’re told that space is expanding,
but I don’t know what that means
for me.
The flowers have popped
already.
In less forgiving climates
only a special few will survive.
I’m not multiplying
until conditions are good.
I question why we’re here,
what we’re doing.
I wish I was a Floridian snowbird.
I want to continually leave
then come back again.
