My Inseparable Twin

My inseparable twin has joined me again on this bright June day, but I don’t know if I should rejoice or recoil at his sight; he seems flat today, entirely without affect, without a sign he recognizes me from last time.

For now, I will put on a friendly face but be on my guard.

Joachim Frank, a German-born scientist and writer, lives in New York City. He took writing classes with William Kennedy, Steven Millhauser, Eugene Garber, and Jayne Ann Philipps. His website is franxfiction.com.

You can see more of his postcard lit in 2.2 and 2.3.
