Yee Jan Bao, a painter and adjunct professor at California College of the Arts, was born in China, but raised in Uraguay before coming to the United States. Bao showed in NY and Chicago, and his work was reviewed in Art in America, and the Chicago Sun-Times, among others. He received grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and the Chicago Arts Council. He died October 16, 2014, after a long illness.
