A Light in the Alley
The tour guide told us each to take a chalk and write our truth out on the brick, in the alley with the other truths. For the first time, I thought and I wrote, “Your mother was always crazy.” A small bird flew out of the hole in my chest.
After receiving a Biology Degree in 1971, Julie Wenglinski worked for 30 years in Information Technology. After retirement, she began taking writing classes with Susan Hankla through the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, in 2012.
