In the Dark

I turned the lights off,
and you said you liked kissing boys.
I laughed and said that’s fine, so do I.
It was in the afternoon when I realized you didn’t love me.
And I laughed in relief
because it wasn’t dark, and I didn’t have to tell the truth.
