Two Horses
The pasture’s rolling. The yellow-pink sky stains everything. I have the windows down. The air’s filled with the scent of fresh alfalfa. Here, city meets country. A chain store, then a barn. In a meadow, two horses, glowing, struck by morning’s light. They turn away, pulling the dark into day.
