Dark Horse Going the Speed Limit



Suddenly, the tender late bloomer boy is passing his road test, first try. Perfect but for the one rough stop sign stop. Hands at ten and two, gangly glorious in his black bomber jacket and sneaks, he’s left the mumbly stasis of not yet, and there’s no catching up now. 









Evan Harris is a writer and librarian. She was co-creator of the 1990s ‘zine Quitter Quarterly, from which her book The Quit emerged. Her short fiction has appeared in Fence, The Brooklyn Rail and Fairy Tale Review among other publications. Evan writes book reviews for her home town newspaper The East Hampton Star, an independent weekly out of East Hampton, New York.
