Wakes, walks to the window, inches
from the pane, breathes out, long breath
bearing its mist, mist appears, pale,
first finger writes a name, stares at,
sees through same to the world below,
world it forms, figures, as the name
fades from the pane, breathes in again,
inches away from the window,
world remains, other world remains
Ray Malone is an Irish writer and artist living in Berlin, Germany, in recent years working on a series of projects continuing to explore the lyric potential of minimal forms based on various musical and/or literary modes/models. His work has been published in numerous print & online journals in the US, UK and Ireland.
