Of the instant, an echo remains,
a fractured thumb, the numbness of a mind
not meant for harm, the slow retreat from
light to unlit realms, the hidden tree,
its sheltering,
from where to wonder, what shape, what shift
of now to undertake, what tangent
to adopt, to rid the moment of
its then, and the echo of its pain











Ray Malone is an Irish writer and artist living in Berlin, Germany, who has been working on a series of projects exploring the lyric potential of minimal forms, often based on various literary and/or musical models. His work has been published in a number of journals in the US, UK and Ireland.
