This isn’t about long-term relationships, mea culpas, or regrets, so there’s no chance the nimble-fingered pickpocket hightailing it down a cobblestone street will glance back, but if he did, he’d see mouths shouting, fingers pointing, arms flailing and hair flying:

of a great wave
