Kay Bradner’s oil paintings on aluminum have a graphic touch that comes from a printmaker’s love of tools. In her April 2017 show “suspended” at Seager Gray Gallery in Mill Valley, she wanders from these sheets blowing in the wind to a child swinging, birds in treetops, surfers on a wave, magnolias in the sun, snowy plovers held aloft by their reflections and flycasters with lines in the air. Kay paints in her home in San Francisco high above the Golden Gate. She is the mother of another graduate of the CCA printmaking MFA program and a grandmother of two.
