Silent…bush

In desert sand the last bush
stands
surrounded by the granular surf
flooding over its roots and branches
until green leaves wilt
in a sarcophagus suffocation.

A buried treasure compressed
by millennia until seekers
discover its fossilized remains
to lie in state under museum
glass.
