Geranium and Pattern
As an artist living in the Bronx, urban images are central to Laura Cantor’s work. Machinery of all kinds has been in her art since the time she worked as a car inspector-subway mechanic-for N.Y.C. Transit. In 2006 she had a solo show at the N.Y.C. Transit Museum, featuring large pastels of mechanical parts of the subway trains. Cantor has a degree in visual art from Empire College (SUNY) and an MFA in printmaking from Lehman Collage (CUNY).
