Fishing Stories

He was just a young boy of four,
ready to go fishing with his brother and father,
already telling fishing stories,
boasting that he was going to catch a fish
as tall as he was, one of the things
he must have learned from his dad

when giving him lessons on fishing,
but if you don’t mind,
please ask your father
to take a picture of the fish you catch
so we can all see how big it was,
but if that doesn’t work out

because nothing was caught, go ahead,
and just draw a picture of yourself
holding that gigantic fish of yours,
for there is nothing better than
a good fish story for the world to enjoy,
a whopper of a tale for all to feast on.
