Cigarette Lighter



If you continue to propound
the definition of insanity
as “doing the same thing
over and over and expecting
a different result,”
 
and I continue to respond,
“You obviously never owned
a cigarette lighter,”
I think we can safely assume
you are insane.





















Harrison Fisher has published twelve collections of poems since 1977, most recently Poematics of the Hyperbloody Real. In 2024, he's had new work appear in BlazeVOX, Clade Song, Misfitmagazine, Rundelania, Transom, and several other online magazines. Retired from public service, Fisher lives in upstate New York.
