Wild & Gaudy
Belinda Chlouber's work intertwines and is inspired by the writings of her grandfather, Arthur Carlos Sweet and her mother, Carla Sweet Chlouber. Belinda states, “I have used fabric and embroidery along with printmaking to create mixed media pieces that I want to have a haunting beauty. I’ve looked to the past for imagery and inspiration in family writings of poetry and short stories. I consider the works to be a collaboration backward through time, exploring the idea of transformation, family, love and loss. Chlouber lives and works in San Mateo California.
