Blue

Inside the blue universe,
blue sky, and inside it
blue ocean, and in it
a Juvenile Yellowtail Damselfish,
intense blue studded with diamonds,
heart of the blue nesting doll.

I surfaced slowly from the deep
blue alongside an endangered
turtle, her fore flippers beating
like eagle wings.

I carried the blue home,
sowed cornflower seeds as I walked.
so the way to our house will bloom
blue, a river in reverse—autocorrects
to reverie: blue ocean and a piece
of night sky in the shape
of a small fish.
